RADIO: Tech Support Assistant
An opportunity has arisen for someone looking to gain experience in IT, Technical Operating and Radio Engineering. The role would be based at our Brighton studios with tasks and activities covering a wide variety; from basic IT tasks such as computer/network development and support, through to online content and communication technologies, with a large proportion being primarily focused on the radio industry and our broadcast studios.
The ideal person will have a keen interest in all thing’s tech, and it helps to have a real love of music. Experience is not necessary however the eagerness to learn is essential.
This position is offered initially as a work experience placement / internship, with a view to becoming a paid role once the required experience is gained, and whilst hours can be adjusted to suit, due to the nature of the role it will be primarily afternoon/evening based.
The station is run by a great team who are all Brighton born and bred and the successful candidate will be working as part of a small team with some great opportunities to learn and develop whilst you’re with us.
PRIMARY ROLE & CORE SKILLS
We’re creating a position for someone who wants to grow. This person will help support the Technical Director with day-to-day tasks across our broadcast studios and IT across the wider company. They will be supporting the team and in turn grow into a role in 2021.
A basic knowledge of using both PC & Mac systems and a confident ability using programs on both operating systems. Basic knowledge using the Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.
As well as a keen interest for music, a basic understanding of sound tech such as file types and sound jargon is advantageous.
Confident communication skills, and it’s important to be able to work alone as well as in a team and to feel confident contributing to any team meetings which may occur.

You must be able to approach the role with an ability to own it and work unsupervised at times. You must be able to work alone and give occasional updates to the rest of the team about progress.
